THERAPY, CLINICAL SUPERVISION

Meaghen Murphy

Hello and welcome to Moonstone Counseling & Wellness. I am an Oregon Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a Washington Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience and a master’s degree in social work from The University of Texas at Austin.

I’ve practiced in a variety of settings, including crisis hotlines, domestic violence and sexual assault counseling agencies, inpatient psychiatric treatment centers, hospitals, and outpatient medical clinics. I have a special interest in providing therapy for anxiety and depression to women across the lifespan.

For 14 years, I worked in a Portland high-risk obstetric clinic, providing support to patients and their families during medically-complicated pregnancies. I am a Certified Perinatal Mental Health therapist (PMH-C) with extensive clinical training and experience helping people with perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, birth trauma, miscarriage and infant loss, infertility, pregnancy termination, and adoption.

I use warmth, compassion, collaboration, and humor in my work with clients. I am honored to walk alongside you as you process difficult life experiences, find your voice, cultivate self-compassion and resilience, and learn new skills to thrive. I am committed to social justice and a therapy practice which is safe and welcoming for all.

My theoretical orientation draws from several therapies and approaches, including trauma-informed care, interpersonal neurobiology, EMDR, CBT, feminist therapy, and mindfulness. In addition to therapy services, I’m a board-approved supervisor offering individual supervision for social workers seeking licensure.

As an empathic and experienced therapist, I look forward to helping you navigate challenges and live more authentically.
